I used it to increase my system's performance for 3 years (made a difference). It is possible, but I want both to be RAID 0. My question is this, was that a normal behaviour in the first place? How can I get those settings to stick so that I return to RAID mode again please? However, I can't get AAM or APM settings to stick unless I allow CrystalDiskInfo to start with windows to apply those settings, or else, they start to click again. Indeed, after removing the RAID mode, and using CrystalDiskInfo to disable AAM and APM, the hard-drives stopped clicking completely for the past year. I couldn't access AAM or APM when RAID mode was on, because Intel simulates a new bigger hard-drive in that mode, so Windows can't see the underlying hard drives. After my data was safe, I removed the RAID mode.Īfter doing some research, I found out that this might be caused by AAM or APM. So I rushed to get a 2TB Western hard drive to backup my data. I did not move the computer, or change anything. This happened once every two weeks or so.Ībout a year ago, it started to happen more often.

It sounded like the head banged against the housing. About 2 years ago, they started to make an intermittent clicking noise.

I bought them 3 or 4 years ago, and had them in RAID-0. I have 2x Samsung HD105SI 1TB hard drives.
